L'oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation: Total Coverage For Less Than £10?
I am always on the lookout for a decent full coverage foundation. Especially one that doesn't break the bank. I have quite a few blemishes at the moment and a large part of my job involves meeting people every day so I much prefer having a high coverage makeup look. I recently saw one of those magical Facebook videos where a girl performs near witchcraft with cosmetics. In this particular video, I saw a girl use the new L'oreal Infallible Total Cover foundation and I couldn't believe how much coverage she got from a drugstore foundation.
I picked it up for £9.99 in Superdrug along with the Infalliable primer for £7.99. I already had the Infalliable setting spray so I was quite excited to try all three together - it's not often I buy so much from one range.
When I tried it out I made sure to be really careful with blending the product as I had seen some girls saying on Twitter that it could be quite hard to work with. I took my beauty blender, sprayed it with a few sprays of setting spray and then used it to dab on my primer. I then went in with a small amount of foundation and started blending lightly from the nose outwards.
EASE OF USE
I could straight away tell what people meant by saying it was quite hard to work with as you do need to be quite quick blending as it seems to set onto the skin really quickly. With a bit of extra blending work, this wasn't really a problem and you really should be spending a decent amount of time blending anyway.
I was particularly impressed with the colour of the foundation. I personally really struggle to find a pale foundation that doesn't oxidise during the day turning me orange OR break the bank, but this one really has ticked both of those boxes. There are only 6 shades in this range but so I can't imagine everyone will be as lucky at finding one that suits them.
For the coverage, I didn't expect to achieve the results in the video but they bloody weren't far off. It was so easy to get a super-high coverage look and I used barely any product. You may see from the picture above, the formula is so thick and almost opaque. It almost reminds me of a paint rather than a foundation! It doesn't feel as cakey as you would think from looking at it, I mean I definitely don't feel like I'm make-up free but it's no MAC Studio Fix, promise.
Is it just me that does not understand why cosmetics brands advertise '24 hour lasting' as a major selling point? I don't think many of us look for our make-up to last 24 hours!
Compared to other foundations, it definitely stands up better than usual. That could be the combination of the primer and the setting spray but either way, the results are pretty good. It does claim to be non-transfer which as someone who spends 70% of their day on the phone I will definitely NOT vouch for, but I'm not really a fair benchmark for that...
Due to just how thick it is, I don't think I will be using this every day especially as we get into the warmer months (hopefully!). But for nights out and days when I really feel I need the extra confidence, I will definitely be reaching for this!
Have you tried this foundation yet? Let me know what you think in the comments!
