What Blogging Means To Me
My 'blog story' is a little messy. If you keep up with my blog or follow me on social media you may know that I was running another blog before this one for nearly 2 years and it was my baby. Life got in the way as it does and a combination of that and an issue with my hosting company meant I lost it. A few months later (March 2017) I started this.
It's nearly August now and I don't think there has been a single day since my first post went up on here that I haven't spent hours thinking about my blog, or done something blog related. I am truly obsessed and I love it. I don't know if it's because I know more about blogging now than I did the first time round but I can't believe how quickly this blog has grown compared to my previous one.
I always felt in school I was the one in my group of friends that didn't really have a 'thing'. I quit dancing when I was 7 because I decided I didn't want to have to get up early on Saturday mornings anymore (can't say I have changed, to be honest), I quit Karate because I decided I didn't like the teacher and I stopped playing the guitar because I was more interested in having acrylic nails than being able to play the F chord. I wasn't particularly smart and I just wasn't passionate about anything. I've always been a very 'all or nothing' person and if something doesn't 100% capture my attention then I probably won't be bothered with it, similarly, if I'm going to do something then I will put absolutely everything into it or I won't bother at all.
Although I didn't know where my passion lay when I was younger, I always knew I wanted to create something. I always knew I wanted to build something up from nothing that was so intrinsically and unapologetically 'me', I just didn't know what. I went through notions of wanting to be an author, a journalist, an editor and an entrepreneur but the one thing that stuck was I knew I wanted to create something.
Blogging is a combination of everything that I love: writing, creating, branding, marketing and everything else that comes with it. On top of getting to do all that, I get to write about the things I love AND I get to be part of the most amazing and supportive online community that there is.
I have big plans for the future of this little corner of the internet. I hope to continue to build this blog up for years to come sharing my experiences and life with all you guys and I really hope you'll stick around for the journey x
