Look Fantastic July 2018 Beauty Box Review

23rd July 2018

I’m into the second month of my Look Fantastic Beauty Box subscription now and I can confidently say it is fast becoming my favourite delivery to receive every month. Every month has a theme, and this month featured 6 products around the July-fitting and weather relevant ‘Golden Goddess’ box. As usual, there was the always appreciated recent issue of Elle, as well as 3 skincare products, 1 makeup product, a hair care and a body product. This is only my second box, but the products do seem to always be more towards skincare than anything else but I actually really like that fact.

What’s in the July Look Fantastic Beauty Box?

The product I was most excited to see has got to be the First Aid Pure Skin Face Cleanser – I have wanted to try this brand for so long and nearly actually bought a set when I was in America in May but decided against it. I actually tried it out for the first time this evening, and I was really impressed instantly. My skin looked so bright and even after I had used it. I’m looking forward to seeing how I get on with it going forward but I can definitely see myself going ahead and making a purchase on this in the future already.

There was also another cleanser in this box, but this was a gel cleanser from the brand SVR Laboratories – a brand I’ve not actually come across before. The ‘purifying and exfoliating’ cleanser is soap-free which is always a winning sign for me. It does say on the back that it is more for oily skin and mines is most definitely on the drier side, but I’ll see how I get o with it.

And the 3rd skincare product was the Omega Hydrating Oil from Lancer. Although this is a small (5ml) sample, a couple of small drops will do so I think there may be more usage here than it seems. I have literally just applied this as part of my morning skincare so it can’t get more first impressions than this. I don’t normally apply oils in the morning but I’m going to make an effort to add this to my moisturiser, as it feels like it is doing so much more than usual.

Something that will definitely be getting used if this weather keeps up is the Filorga UV-Bronze After Sun that was also included in Julys Look Fantastic Beauty Box.  This is a gel-to-oil formula that pacifies and calms the skin after being in the sun and helps to deepen your tan.

‘The make-up product this month is a beautiful golden Freematic Highlighter Mono from Doucce in the shade ‘Sparkled Ray’. This is a very velvety and smooth highlighter and the golden glow is going to go beautifully with a tan. I also really like the packaging of this as you can essentially just slide it up to use rather than faffing about with lids.

And finally, as revealed last month, this months box also included an 80ml Kerateste Reflection Shampoo sample to trial. I generally stick to either Tresemme or L’oreal when it comes to shampoo and conditioner so I’m looking forward to trying this out – and it smells unbelievable. Like, really. It’s aimed at coloured or highlighted hair and as I’ve been using lightening products on my hair, this is well timed.

The August Look Fantastic Spoiler

On the back of the information booklet, they also give you a sneak peek at next months box. The theme for August is ‘Feel, Be, Look Fantastic’ and will have products that make you look and feel great including a Rhubarb & Rose Shower Gel from Molton Brown.

And that’s it for Julys Look Fantastic Beauty Box! What did you think of the products included? I would love to hear your opinion on the contents and beauty boxes in general below. If there is anything mentioned in here that you would like to hear more about or would like a full review on, then please do also let me know either in the comments or you can DM me on Twitter anytime!
