Morning Skincare Routine Ft. Sophia’s Sphere

29th November 2017

WELL well well. It has been quite a while! It feels so bloody good to be sitting typing up a post again! I have so many ideas for posts over the next few months and I don’t plan on going anywhere for the foreseeable future so keep your eyes peeled for lots of exciting content in the new year!

On to today’s post, I and Sophia from Pearls of Sphere decided to do a collab quite a while ago, and the super patient Sophia was sweet enough to not hate me after having to wait about 3 months for a collab… but here we finally are! I’m going to be talking about my morning skincare routine, and at the end, you can jump over to Sophia’s blog to read her evening skincare routine. See what we did there?!

I hope you enjoy reading this post and if you would like me to do a follow up with my own evening routine then please do let me know in the comments below!

My morning skincare routine actually chops and changes depending on my plans for the day but I do follow somewhat of a regular pattern.

Every morning I cleanse with the Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser from Superdrug. I adore this product and find it really similar to the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser in terms of consistency and the smell (I have done a full post on the range you can read with this link). I double cleanse in the evening so I just like to use my morning cleanse as an opportunity to wake up and nourish my skin.

Occasionally for speed, I will just quickly use the Simple Daily Facial Cleanser that I find dries out breakouts really well too.

Sometimes if my skin is looking particularly dull I try to give it a bit of a boost by using glycolic acid in the morning – right now I am using the Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glycolic Cleansing Pads but the Nip+Fab ones are brilliant too.

After cleansing, I have been using an essence lotion in my skincare routine in both the morning and the evening. I picked this up from the B.Refreshed range in Superdrug and love it. An Essence Lotion is a Korean skincare step that you do after cleansing to restore moisture to the skin. Think a cross between a toner and a serum! I always found that toners never really done anything for me so I find this a great alternative.

I often use this REN Anti-Redness Serum in the mornings too. I have always had quite a ‘red’ face (more so when I was younger), especially in the winter months when my skin is dry as hell so I like to use this just to keep everything that bit calmer and more moisture full.

I use a Vitamin C serum most mornings, right now I am loving the Proaura Vitamin C 20%* one that also has Hyaluronic Acid and Astaxanthin which makes an ideal, tacky base for makeup to go on top of! I find using Vitamin C in my skincare really keeps my skin looking bright and refreshed so I like to add it to my routine wherever I can.

And finally, if I haven’t used a serum in the morning I will top it off with a bit of moisturiser. This usually varies between Nivea products and whatever I pick up at the time but right now I am using the Superdrug Radiance Moisture Cream that I actually really love!

Thanks so much for reading, let me know in the comments if there is anything you would like to hear more about!

Now go and read all about Sophias evening skincare routine now!
