The Liebster Award Tag: 20 Things About Me

11th July 2017

I was recently tagged in the Liebster Award post by the lovely Beth at ‘I’m With Beth‘,  you can read her post here and give her a follow on twitter here! A few days later I was lucky enough to be tagged again by Jenn at The Cloudy Mermaid! (You can read her post here!).I decided to combine the questions that Jenn and Beth set as I loved both their ideas!

The Liebster Award is a post where you answer questions given to you by another blogger, you then tag 11 bloggers and give them a new set of questions to answer. Sooo, without further ado…

Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging in 2015 to have something to do other than study for prelims in January which is a testimony to how extravagant a procrastinator I was. Cliche as it is and we allll say it but I did just fall in love with it and aside from a few months here and there and starting a totally new one (this one) in March I haven’t really stopped since.

What is a quote/motto you live by?

I am actually about to order a couple of wall prints for my room and have been thinking of quotes that I really like for that so the one I have settled on so far is…

“She believed she could so she did”

I like this because I’m a big believer that you can achieve anything you want if you have the faith and the dedication towards it.

If you could visit any place in the world where would it be and why?

really want to spend some time in New York at some point in my life, like a year or maybe longer. I just think it seems like the most exciting city in the world and I don’t think my life will be complete until I have lunch on the Met steps and spend a silly amount of money on Fifth Avenue.

Where do you see your blog in 5 years?

I definitely see myself still running this blog, even if I end up talking to myself by then! In 5 years I would absolutely love to be in a position where I can focus solely on my blog or at least be close to being in that position. I would love to be doing more travel and fashion posts over the next few years and for it to become a really helpful place for women of all ages to feel inspired and motivated to get what they want in life.

Who is your favourite blogger/ influencer?

I do love Hannah Gales blog posts, I adore reading every single one and she is just so relatable. She was one of the first blogs I ever really read as I used to come across her infamous list posts all the time. I do watch a lot of YouTubers and I love Fashion Mumblr as well as Emily Canham – I think what she has achieved at her age is amazing!

What advice would you give to new bloggers?

I would say the best thing you can do is just stay as original to yourself as possible, let your personality show and write about things you love to talk about. Getting social and connecting with other bloggers is important too, they will be your biggest supporters!

What is your biggest fear?

Death and clowns. Or a death clown. A big clown that kills you that’s my biggest fear. Nah. Sod that. No thank you.

I’m also irrationally freaked out by Sheep but we won’t go into that.

What is your favourite tv series?

If you follow me on Twitter you will know my life has currently been taken over by Love Island so right now I would have to say that. It is the only reality show I every actually watch thought to be fair. I’m a dedicated Hollyoaks and Eastenders fan admittedly but apart from that anything like Scandal, Suits or The Office US takes over my life frequently too.

What is your favourite accessory?

Always a watch or earrings. Or a handbag, but can we count that as a necessity?

If you could only eat one item of food for the rest of your life what would it be?

I think I could live off of Spaghetti Bolognese.

What can you not live without?

On a superficial level I’ll say my phone but on a literal level probably like blood.

If you could change anything about the world, what would it be?

I hate that not everyone is given the same chances in life so if I could change one thing it would be to wipe out inequalities across the world and give everybody the same chance.

Are you an introvert or an extrovert?

Once I know someone and I decide I’m comfortable with them I’m a totally different person and can be the loudest most annoying person you will ever come across, but if I don’t know you I am totally different and awkward so I guess it changes on who I’m with.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Don’t try to be something you’re not and stop trying to rush everything.

Do you prefer books or movies?

There is nothing better than becoming engrossed in a good book and being unable to put it down and you nearly always prefer the book if you read it before the movie so I’ll have to say books here.

What’s your favourite thing about blogging?

It’s got to be connecting with and getting to know other bloggers – the blogging community is honestly the most supportive and uplifting thing and I’ve met some amazing girls who I consider friends through my blog! I also really love seeing my blog grow and improve over time, it’s so satisfying seeing your hard work transform into results.

Who (or what) inspires you the most?

I think again it has to be other bloggers. Seeing girls (and not forgetting the boys of the blog world) achieve amazing things with their blogs and in their lives is so motivating and seeing how bigger bloggers that I have followed since they were small are doing now is the biggest motivator!

What’s your biggest dream/goal in life?

I would love to turn blogging/content creation into a career one day. I absolutely love my job but it would be the most amazing achievement to hand in my notice to work purely on my blog, that’s the dream!

Favourite animal?

Dogs! Easily. Or if I had to choose one a bit more exotic a monkey.

Favourite Disney princess?

I’m not just saying this out of patriarchy but it’s got to be Merida out of Brave, she’s so sassy, fierce and not to mention Scottish so yeah, I loved Brave and LOVE her.

And done! I hoped you enjoyed finding out a little bit more about me. The 11 bloggers I nominate are…
